When I meet with small business owners one of the first questions I ask them is do they have a list of their clients and prospects?
Very honestly more often than not I usually get a soft no, a squishy no or a definite no. Some might have a box of business cards in a drawer somewhere or they may keep a few names in Excel but when pressed it’s usually outdated information.
Lots of small businesses are just not taking advantage of what I perceive is the number one opportunity for them; to have an updated list of clients and prospects and be able to use that list to generate more business. I wanted to shine a light on this key business component a lot of business owners just miss.
